Join Paul Aldridge and John Williams at our Manchester hospital for a small group masterclass where we’ll discuss tips, tricks, and current evidence to maximise outcomes in two common scenarios: wound reconstructions and intestinal anastomosis.
In the morning, we’ll look at the initial management of traumatic wounds, aiming to rapidly establish a healthy wound bed, followed by a discussion of reconstruction techniques and their real-world application.
In the afternoon, the focus moves to the surgical management of perforating intestinal foreign bodies; planning enterectomy, executing an accurate viable anastomosis, and what other interventions performed now will reduce the risk of dehiscence in 3-4 days’ time?
A dry-lab session will give delegates the opportunity to get hands-on with both sutured and stapled anastamosis techniques, and look at the use of abdominal drains.
