Protecting your pet from Christmas hazards
With lots of batteries, brandy, toys and tinsel around, Christmas can be dangerous for pets. Our veterinary teams always see a rise in emergency cases during the festive period.
In 2022 we saw a 62% rise in pet emergencies during the last two weeks in December when compared to the first two weeks. We treated 667 pets who had eaten a mince pie, 958 pets who had eaten chocolate and 15 pets who had taken a shine to tinsel.
