Now for work-life balance at Vets Now Northampton

At Vets Now, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which is why we have developed a rota pattern designed to do just that. Our role at Northampton is not a traditional full-time position but instead offers a flexible schedule consisting of 2 weeknights per week, 2 weekends every 4 weeks (either day or night shifts), and 3 to 4 bank holiday shifts per year. This schedule ensures no more than three consecutive shifts, providing ample opportunity for rest and personal time.

In the Northampton clinic, you’ll find a strong support network in highly experienced Surgeons, a skilled nursing team, and knowledgeable Animal Care Assistants and Receptionists. You’ll benefit from dedicated support and coaching, both formally as part of your professional journey and informally through collaboration with our Senior Vet.

Tailored for experienced Veterinary Surgeons, our two-week AdvantEdge programme offers 80 hours of CPD, culminating in a surgical wet lab practical weekend. By blending AdvantEdge with our Vet Surgeon role in Northampton, you’ll not only unlock the skills needed for success but also step confidently into a thrilling ECC career.

Shifts:

  • Weeknights: 2 nights per week (19:00-09:00)

  • Weekends: 2 weekends every 4 weeks:

    • Saturday and Sunday day shifts (Saturday: 12:00-19:30 / Sunday: 08:30-19:30), or

    • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night shifts (19:00-09:00)

  • Bank Holidays: 3 to 4 day shifts per year (08:30-19:30)
