About the role

We are currently seeking an Insurance Administrator to join our multi-discipline veterinary hospital as part of an established reception/admin team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will liaise with insurance companies to ensure timely payment of claims, facilitate the insurance claim process on behalf of our clinic teams and will resolve complex queries in a timely manner. You will deliver a first-class client experience for every case claimed for.

What are the key responsibilities?

In this role, you will:

  • Processing insurance claims
  • Providing excellent customer service over the telephone
  • Monitoring claims through to successful settlement
  • Be proactive in ensuring client communications are up to date
  • Keep accurate records of insurance document and ensure accurate recording of insurance details onto business systems
  • Liaise with a wide range of insurance companies, clients, clinicians and other team members
  • Identify and address discrepancies
  • Ensure all relevant internal documents are promptly and correctly administered
  • Be proficient in dealing with various insurance portals and paper forms
  • Identify inefficiencies in process and make recommendations for continuous improvement​

The skills and experience we require:

  • Previous experience of working in a customer service environment and dealing with complex queries over the telephone and/or email is essential
  • Previous experience of credit management including legal/ethical policies and insurance claims is preferable but not essential
  • Able to develop good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Commitment to professional and ethical standards
  • Positive, proactive outlook with confidence and belief in own abilities
  • Flexible and collaborative approach

Working pattern

We are looking for a skilled Insurance Administrator with a genuine passion for people and animals that can commit to the following working pattern:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 09:00 to 17:30 (we do have a degree of flexibility around the working pattern)
