A work life less ordinary
At Vets Now, our emergency clinics are only open nights, weekends and bank holidays, so when you choose to join our team, you’ll no longer be part of the Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 daily rush.
Giving people and their pets the care and support they deserve at the time they need it most is what drives us and our people.
We recognise that each and every individual in the Vets Now team has a part to play in our success. That’s why when we say we offer you a work life less ordinary, we really mean it.
A career that offers you it all
We know that a career in Emergency Critical Care is more than a competitive rewards and benefits package (which we are proud to offer). Vets Now has a unique offering that provides other important elements to let you flourish in your career and at home.
Key Benefits
-
Now for more freedom
- Working for Vets Now means working as part of a small but dedicated team. On each shift, we typically have a vet, registered veterinary nurse and receptionist. However, help and advice is always available when you need it from our UK network of out-of-hours clinics and emergency and specialty hospitals, Area Directors and Area Clinical Managers, and support staff.
-
Now for flexibility
- Working out of hours gives you the chance to spend your days doing the things that fit in with your lifestyle, whether that be taking the children to school, enjoying hobbies, spending time with your pets, or just making more of the daylight hours. We will also work with you to discuss the shift patterns that work best for you, whether it’s weekend only, part-time or full-time. Our aim is to attract and retain talented people and we know how important it is to find a balance that is right for you and your home life.
-
Now for confidence
- We are passionate about breaking down barriers to a career in ECC and that’s why we have invested in our Edge induction programme, led by experienced emergency clinicians. In addition to our regular induction programme, our Edge programmes offer hands on ECC training where you will be paid while you learn. Our team can discuss with you what course best suits your needs to ensure that you feel confident starting your new role.
-
Now for adventure
- Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care provide a stimulating, high-adrenaline environment for everyone who works in it. The variety in pace and emotional reward of successfully treating a seriously ill or injured pet is often what sets it apart from other veterinary disciplines.
-
Now for development
- You'll develop your clinical and client care skills alongside some of the UK's best emergency and critical care clinicians, performing life-saving procedures in a learning environment. You'll also be encouraged to attend our annual ECC Congress and to take advantage of our unique training and CPD programmes.
